 FAQs

  • The participation fee is $499. The fee not only holds your date and allows us to book in the hair and makeup artist for your shoot, it also covers the consultation, photoshoot, a $500 credit toward image purchase, and a ticket to the 50 Over 50 Portrait Exhibition & Celebration.

  • The $499 participation fee includes:

    • Styling consultation – to discuss your vision for how you want to be photographed and coach you on what to wear/styling

    • Hair & makeup – professional hair and makeup on your photoshoot date

    • Access to studio wardrobe – unlimited access to our studio closet of couture gowns and fun accessories

    • Photoshoot – a 3-hour photoshoot with Ashleigh

    • Image viewing & order session – a Zoom session to view your images and order your images using your $500 print credit (the credit will cover 1 image of choice or can be applied to bigger packages)

    • Portrait celebration & exhibition – one ticket to the celebratory exhibition showcasing all 50 portraits

    • VIP Facebook group – a supportive community of fellow participants

    • Featured on our blog & social media – your images and story may be featured on our platforms

    This package is valued at over $2190, but we’re offering it for just $499 to cover team and hard costs.

  • Absolutely! Many participants do. In fact, 94% of our Volume I participants chose to order full image collections.

    • Additional images à la carte are $500 each

    • Packages begin at $2500 + tax for 10 images

    • Your $499 participation fee is credited toward your package if you order one

    We accept credit cards and offer payment plans. There’s no hard sell—this is about what you love once you see the results.

  • At our studio in downtown Santa Barbara, CA.

  • We shoot Monday through Thursday, typically starting at 10:30am and wrapping by 1:30pm. Dates are first come, first served based on both Ashleigh’s and the makeup artist’s schedules. We’ll coordinate with you once booked.

  • One of the most exciting parts of the project is the celebration and exhibition honoring all 50 participants. Volume I’s event was held on April 20, 2024 and was featured in local press—it was an epic night!

    You’ll be part of Volume II. Date and venue are still TBD, but we plan to make it even more fabulous. Stay tuned!

  • I just turned 39, and society wants me to believe that it’s all downhill from here. But that’s nonsense. There’s no expiration date on beauty, strength, or fulfillment. I created this project because I’m deeply inspired by women over 50. Your stories matter. You’re living proof that women only get better with time—and I want the world to see that.

  • Not at all. I’m an award-winning photographer with over 15 years of experience photographing women over 50, and a strong portfolio you can view below. This project isn’t about building my body of work—it’s about celebrating yours. The 50 Over 50 campaign was created to honor the beauty, wisdom, strength and diversity of women 50+ and to elevate your stories in a world that too often overlooks them.

  • Whoa— let me stop you right there, beauty. I don’t believe in "photogenic." It’s my job to pose, light, and direct you so you look and feel amazing—and I’m a trained master at doing just that for women of all ages, shapes, and sizes.

  • We’ll help you decide! You can wear up to 4 outfits. Think casual jeans and a tee, business attire, a sundress, a glamorous cocktail dress or gown, yoga gear, or even lingerie or nothing at all. We also have a collection of studio wardrobe you can incorporate into your shoot. This is your shoot—there are no rules.

  • Absolutely! Loved ones are welcome. Additional people are $250/person to account for additional time, posing, and styling. This shoot is about your story, and if that includes others, let’s capture that!

  • Yes, please! We’d love to celebrate your friends too.

  • We get it—life happens! You’re allowed one complimentary reschedule if it’s more than 14 days in advance. Reschedules within 14 days or additional changes will incur a $250 fee.
